MIRACLE 7-13-15

M-me, I-Investigator, R- revelation, A- area, C- companion, L-lesson learned,
E-everything else

Hey everyone! It’s been a great week! It’s been a hot week! But we have a car!! Woo Hoo!

M- I'm doing well! My shoulder has been bothering me for a long time so I went to a physical therapist (After jumping through a million hoops to work things out through the mission medical stuff,) this week. Frankly it didn't seem too helpful. The lady gave me a long list of exercises and what not that is supposed to make it better. Hopefully it will. Besides that I'm doing well! It’s been kind of weird though.. People have started telling me that I don't have much time left when I tell them how long I've been out. The time has flown by! I can't believe I'm coming up on my 18 month mark.

I- Our investigators are doing great! Allen England is golden as always. We took him through a presentation call Gods plan for the family at the Visitor center. It talks about how families can be together forever and temples and what not. It was perfect timing because his nephew’s wife just died two days before. He was at the funeral over the weekend so he didn't make it to church but he's still doing awesome. The Davies Family is doing really well too. Being a missionary in independence is a very unique area to serve. Most first lessons you talk about the book of Mormon and Joseph Smith. Here they all already believe all that, so instead we have to start out with Brigham Young and Temples and Priesthood line of authority. We went and had a lesson with Betty (John Davies wife) and the Stake President Cato. John and President Cato grew up in the same RLDS church, so they go way back. Oh man, President Cato threw down on the RLDS church, and John was right their behind him the whole time. Anyway, our investigators are doing well.

R- I am so blessed to be serving in the center stake of Zion. This is where everything is going to happen in the end. That puts a pretty big responsibility on us as the missionaries serving here. We are literally preparing the grounds that Christ himself will walk on. I get to look out across the empty temple lot every week that Joseph Smith set apart for when the Lord will return. We know it won’t be empty for long though! The time will come, so we better all get to work!

A- Umm, Honestly the area could still be doing a little better. Allen and the Davies are doing well, but that's just about all we've got going for us right now. But hey, I'm not going to complain. That’s still more that I've ever had before!

C- Elder Bylund is doing well. Ha, he's starting to get transfer trunky. I can't blame him; he's been in this area for going on six months. It’s hard not to get a little antsy after that long. He better be careful what he wishes for though! I tell him he's going to get out cast to Tipton if he keeps talking about wanting to leave. Elder Bylund also hit his year mark this week so he's been kind of freaking out about that. He’s over the hump! It’s all downhill from here.

L- You get out of life (and a mission) exactly what you put in it.

E- It’s been far too long since I've ranted about food. I want to take this time to pay a special tribute to all the great meals I've been honored to be a part of here in independence. I'd also like to say a special thank you to all the Polynesians who truly know how to eat. The sight of a giant three hundred pound pig that's been slow cooking underground for the last sixteen hours is awe inspiring. From Chinese Buffets, to Fourth of July barbeques, to the traditional Mormon mom casseroles. I have not regret a single ounce gained. Being in an area where you get fed ever single night is a miracle in itself. Thank you for reading everyone. I miss and love you all!

Love,

PS. There was a tornado warning on Monday and a bunch of us missionaries had to wait out the storm in the basement of the Stake Center. It was crazy!!  You know it's bad when Pizza Hut won't deliver. haha

Mom, The tornado is coming. If I die....I love you!!
